ACTIVITIES
Kids love this story and so do I. We found a hat and a broom in class and we discuss who it may be from. Most of the kids said that it was from the witch that had hidden the skeleton body parts. I Show them the book cover and I asked them if they thought it was the same witch. One of them said it couldn't be the same witch because this one may be good as she was smiling. AWESOME association!!
We played with the poster (not the best picture sorry) I read the sentence stripes and kids place then accordingly. This way we practice the adjectives big small long and short apart from clothes and accesories.
We also sequenced the story and made a picture story map.
Kids loved coloring and labeling the witch.
MEG AND MOG
On the last day of halloween we watched the cartoon MEG AND MOG from youtube, click on the picture to access the video. Then the kids completed this simple worksheet where they clapped their hands when they heard the words black, hat, broom and cauldron, they also colored the creatures that appeared on the video as well as drawing their favourite part of the story. Look at the awesome drawing that Dante made he didn't have a model to copy from and he created this.
