WE INTERPRET MIRO'S SCULPTURES

After taking a look at lots of Joan Miro's sculptures we chose "The caress of the bird" and start to build it.

I draw and cut the shapes the kiddos told me we would need. The conversation went pretty much like this...

-We need a triangle with a big circle inside.
- the circle you need to cut can be the head
- the nose is a cone like the snowman's
- and the joaldunak's hat
- it just has one leg, very long
- the bird, don't forget to draw the bird
- it is wearing glasses
- the eyes are empy squares
- it has a leave in the legs...

In groups the kids color the parts

Then it was time to draw the glasses, assemble and glue it.

DISCOVERING JOAN MIRO THE NAIVE ARTIST

  WE ARE DISCOVERING THE ART OF JOAN MIRO AND WE ARE TOTALLY LOVING IT.
Miró is one of the best artists to show 3 year olds as his lines and color are incredibly inspiring to them.

 
The kids explored freely his artwork and made their own versions:

in the blocks center the kids had pictures of his sculptures and they were invited to interprete his art using different materials:

We ask the families to collaborate by bringing pictures of Miro's artwork, books  or boards with information... and they brought these amazing things:

Unax and Mikel made and interpretation of "woman in front of the sun" with their families.

Julia and her daddy made a puzzle with her name in Miro's style

 Eunate made this amazing informative board with her family.

Mario and his family made a riddle for us. There were letters hiding in Miro's paintings and we had to discover the secret name...  it was Mario's.




Using pictures they brought from home we started completing our informative board in the hallway:

In the math center there are also art puzzles and some of the kids are great at completing them:

One of our favorite artworks is "Selfportrait" so we made it by drawing and gluing plasticine
