LOVING GONOODLE BRAIN BREAKS

https://www.gonoodle.com/
During the past weeks I started working with this amazing brainbreaks page. It is absolutely free and we are LOVING IT. We are doing Yoga activities with the adorable Maximo, we don't usually end up very relaxed but we have lots of fun.

MORE LITERACY CENTERS IN THE 4 YEAR OLD CLASSROOM.

I want to show you two literacy centers we have been working on lately:

The first one is our improvement of our SHAKE THE WORD game:
now we work on it as an independent center were in groups kids shake the dice, read the words and write them down on their papers: They are doing a great job with very little control from me, I can't be more proud of them.

Our second center is a building words center:
each of these little boxes has lots of laminated letters so the kids can play building words.
We first played with the whole group, making the rules clear and then we added to the literacy center for them to play in pairs:

jungle week 5: tigers. jungle week 6: EXPLORERS AND PEOPLE LIVING IN THE JUNGLE

              WEEK FIVE: TIGERS.

TIGERS CAN, HAVE ARE
In order to help kids order their ideas and express themselves better we use this chart differentiating what animals can do, what they have and how they are.

CHIT CHAT A SHARED WRITING ON TIGERS
Shared writing is a practice where we create a text together using the kids ideas. What we do here is an adaptation where using the kids oral production from previous days we complete with them a text with gaps being either whole words or parts. The helper writes in a big piece of paper while the others have their own sheet.

 FREE WRITING ON TIGERS.

JUNGLE BOOK STORY CREATIVE BOOK

We learned lots of things about explorers and the importance of preserving nature and treating jungle animals well.
One of my friends from the States was spending some time in the Amazonian Rainforest so he sent us pictures of his time in there. Also Roberto, the PE teacher brought some pictures of his trip to Thailand so we could see tigers, elephants and snakes.

WHAT DO EXPLORERS NEED.
We discuss what explorers need when they go to the jungle.

Then we made our own explorers to add to our jungle bulletin board.

WE THE EXPLORERS and THE EASTER BUNNY INCIDENT.
We made our hats and binocular to become explorers.

We were a bit worried because the Easter Bunny might not recognize our classroom as it was a jungle. But.... he did:

so we got "explorers ready" and went outside to look for our eggs:

and suddenly it was...
