THE KISSING HAND ACTIVITIES

The first day of school i always work with the kissing hand book because chester is sooooo adorable...


After telling the story we discussed our favourite part and then drew it.

Aimar drew the cover of the book, you can see the moon, chester and his mum.

David drew all the animals going to school, i bet you can see a raccoon falling from the sky.

then we created a chester the raccoon puppet.

MORNING MESSAGE

I have started using morning messages in my class this week, and my students loooove it.
Now the message is quite simple but i will be adding more difficult words to it.   

                                                        

I generally ask the kids to circle the sounds we have been working in class, relate some dots to numbers or write certain letters upper or lowercase.
                                          
We are out of school from thursday until monday because it's the towns festival!!!. Look at the adorable drawing Aitor made representing the fireworks in the town.
So i came  back home to see my people so excited!.  But i am also looking forward to see my adorable students on monday.

BROWN BEAR ACTIVITIES

We are working with brown bear these days as we want to revise the colors and also teach the kiddos how to write the color words.

We made the brown bear book by doodle bugs the kids loved it. It was a lot of hard work cutting, coloring and writing but it was worth it

We have a great time ahead learning to read lower case letters so these next two weeks we will focus a lot on that. I'll tellyou how it goes. If you have any ideas of relating upper to lower case games. I will be more than happy to hear about them.


TAKE CARE

GETTING STARTED WITH SCHOOL

During this week we have been meeting all of our students. I am a co-teacher in 5 years C but i also teach 5 years A and B. ( which means 40 students apart from my original 20 students in 5years C.)

We have been checking the students' level and, as I always do, we read The kissing hand book which is my absolute favorite for the begining of the school year. 

The kids made lovely drawings ( i'll take pictures on monday) and then they colored, cut and glue a chester puppet, which ended up being very cool.

We also started our phonics learning, i am excited to see their progress in reading.


Next week, we will work on numbers and colors using the BROWN BEAR book and most of the ideas from the lovely teachers that i follow. I'll tell you how it goes.

I INTRODUCE YOU TO MY CLASSROOM

So I started my job in a school in Pamplona. I teach 5 years old in a bilingual school. These past weeks have been crazy. I moved to a new city, met my new flatmates, decorated my room and met the teachers at school. Lucky me, everyone has been amazing to me here. I have the best coworkers ever so i think we will be able to do great things with the kids.

I met my students on tuesday, I am not aloud to speak spanish to them, but although they are 5 they can understand me pretty well.
